About The Choir

The Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir was the first expatriate male voice choir on the coast and we have a membership of about 40.

The Choir’s repertoire is eclectic, including songs from musicals to popular, classical, traditional and sacred.

Although a few members read music, the majority do not, and so we have a number of methods to help learn the music including a computer software package called Noteworthy which can be used to play any part over and over again.

The Choir gave 6 performances in 2021 but none of course in 2020. We rehearse every Tuesday evening from 17.30 to 20.00hrs (approx) in the back room of the Bar Mediterraneo in Teulada (30 mins north of Benidorm). Come along and listen in.

Our History

The choir was formed in April 2007 by Mike Evans who, after being in the Thanet Male Voice Choir and the Huntingdon Male Voice Choir in the UK, retired to the Costa Blanca and was unable to find a Male Voice Choir to join.

The Choir started with only about a dozen members and Heather Butcher as Musical Director and Accompanist. There are now about 40 members of the choir. In 2014 the Choir entered a local choir competition and won the cup for “Best Choir” as voted by the audience.
